Assemblies

Within the assemblies an opening question is provided and the pupils share their views and opinions. Additional research related to the question is provided followed by an opportunity to discuss the original question. Points of discussion include how the topic makes pupils feel, where in the world the articles are linked with and other news articles that are also linked to the original question. There are opportunities for pupils to reflect and also recognise how the question is linked to British Values.  When the pupils return to class further work and discussion will take place with evidence being recorded within floor books. Below are a few examples of how the assemblies are delivered. In addition to the discussions developed through the Picture News presentations a theme is also discussed.  This theme is linked to a school event, change in season, school development plan, religious event or a themed week.  A collective worship is also covered.

Further to this we celebrate pupils achievements each week with our Values Victor, Learner and Writer of the week from each class.
