Book Week
At Fairfield Primary School we want our children to have a passion for reading and to develop their love of reading throughout the school year.
Additional to this we celebrate World Book Day for a Week every year by immersing ourselves into a full week of exciting reading-based activities.
This included mystery readers visiting our classrooms and sharing a story with us, a KS1 trip to WHSmith’s, creating our Spud Characters, meeting and sharing a story with our reading buddies, time to read for pleasure and share our favourite books with our friends, #shelfies photographs showing us reading in different environments, sharing a story with Belle the reading dog and dressing up as our favourite book characters.
We had so much fun and any money raised goes to the World Book Day charity whose mission is to support every child to have a book of their own.
