Hopes and Dreams
To welcome all children back in September 2020 all children across the school, worked on a Hopes and Dreams PSHE unit of work.
Children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 studied the text Hope by Corrinne Averiss. This included crafts, games, reading and writing focusing on their Hopes for the up and coming year and their future hopes in general. The text included the themes of resilience and aspirations and there were lots of class discussions encouraging children not to give up hope when times are uncertain.
KS2 (Year 3-6) focussed on the text Emmanuel's Dream by Laurie Thompson. Children analysed the text and discussed the reoccurring themes of diversity, resilience and always reaching for your dreams. Children then displayed dreams of their own through art, drama and writing using Emmanuel's Dream as inspiration.
